We are often reminded to expect the unexpected since
we don't know daily what is facing us around each and
every corner. But one thing we've come to expect each
fall in Middle Georgia is that Byron Baptist Church
will present Judgement House, a walk-through drama
presentation of the gospel.
This year's story is entitled
"Unexpected," and showcases the Endicott's,
a typical American family, with busy schedules and
people going in every direction, and how the
unexpected interrupts even the best of situations.
Judgement House is an exciting time for Byron
Baptist as church members look forward to what God
will accomplish through this production. Judgement
House, an eight-scene walk-through presentation,
involves over 130 volunteers from Byron Baptist
working together to plan, set up the scenes, and
practice their roles. Various age groups get involved
in the evangelistic effort, thus becoming a
church-wide effort to win the lost.
Byron Baptist Church began Judgement House in the
fall of 2001. The original plan was to spread the
gospel to our local community; however, the production
not only brought local people to witness the drama
presentation, but people from all over the state as
well as several surrounding states. Church members
bring their friends to Judgement House, giving them
the chance to make a life-changing decision for Jesus.
About 8, 000 people have participated in the eight
Judgement House presentations to date. There have been
1600 professions of faith, 740 of which rededicated
their lives to the Lord. Fourteen cast members have
given their lives to the Lord. Byron Baptist has also
helped other churches launch their own Judgement House
presentations.
This year's Judgement House will be held on two
Saturdays, October 24 and October 31 from 5 to 9 p.m.
and on two Sundays, October 25 and November 1 from 5
p.m. to 8 p.m. Groups walk through every 10 minutes.
Some scenes from the presentation may be too
intense for young children, but older children, youth,
young adults, and older adults have benefitted from
viewing Judgement House.
