Surely the heart of God is grieved as he sees the 48
million babies that have been lost to abortion since
the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision. The hearts at Sav A
Life Ministries are grieved too, hence the 19th annual
Stand for Life Inspirational Service and Walk held
here in Central Georgia to be a living, visual
testimony for the sanctity of life.
The people at Sav A Life believe that the unborn,
like all men and women, bear the image of God and that
these lives should be viewed in this light and
protected. If you too believe that, the folks at Sav A
Life invite you to join them January 22 at 12 noon for
an inspirational service on the steps of Macon's City
Hall, followed by a Stand for Life Walk at 12:30,
which goes from City Hall to Central City Park.
Transportation from Central City Park to City Hall
begins running at 11 a.m. There will be no
cancellation due to weather.
The caring staff at Sav A Life offers a great many
services to clients, all at no charge. Some of the
services offered include pregnancy testing, ultrasound
scans, STD and HIV information, parenting education,
abstinence education, after abortion counseling and
more.
Registered nurses who volunteer their time teach
topics such as labor and delivery, breastfeeding and
proper nutrition. Over the last two years there have
been over 500 individuals attending classes.
The big news around Sav A Life is that on October
25, 2007, they opened their doors as a pregnancy help
medical clinic. Through a partnership with Focus on
the Family, Sav A Life obtained an ultrasound machine.
This is important because 80% of clients considering
abortion will change their mind if they see an
ultrasound image of their baby. In addition, Sav A
Life works actively to prevent unplanned teen
pregnancies through its abstinence based sex education
program, currently offered in some local schools.
How effective has Sav A Life been in the area?
Their two locations– 112 Pierce Avenue in Macon, and
the Pregnancy Resource Center at 306 N. Davis Drive in
Warner Robins– served 970 clients in 2007 and over
1200 in 2008. Their goal has been to not only save
babies, but also to reach the mothers with the good
news of salvation through Jesus Christ and to disciple
them so that they can make godly, biblically based
decisions the rest of their lives. Over the last two
years, they have had the opportunity of seeing over
100 individuals pray to receive Jesus Christ as Savior
and Lord.
If you would like to invest in this positive
ministry, prayerfully consider a financial
contribution or volunteering to help at one of the
centers.
You can reach Sav a Life in Macon at 478-755-1343,
and the Pregnancy Resource Center in Warner Robins at

Between now and February 28, Sav A Life is having a
baby shoe drive for the needy. You can donate baby
shoes at either the Macon or Warner Robins location.
