Ash Wednesday Service. 6:30
p.m.
Ash Wednesday is the start of the
Lenten journey of 40 weekdays
(Monday through Saturday) that takes
the church to the eve of Easter. Sundays
are not included in the count of 40 days,
as they are "little Easter"
celebrations.
Lent is primarily about identifying with
and accompanying those who are being
led by the Spirit to make the wilderness
journey — toward baptism, toward
reconciliation,
toward peace. The worship
celebration of Ash Wednesday is a service
of reflection, repentance, forgiveness,
journeying. We enter. We pray. We
read Scripture. We respond with the
imposition of ashes. We are invited to
the altar, confess our sins, and make
peace with one another and with God.
We are sent forth to serve. Christ

Parkway, Warner Robins. 922-0211.
